Blue: Day one done....

It was 4:30 i was blissfully asleep on a couch, Justina laying on the couch next to me. The birds and sun had yet to show their faces and then.................. my alarm goes off.

It's time to get up for the first day of our summer internship! We rolled around for a half hour, managed to find our way into some business casual clothes and somehow made it to my truck for the 15 minute drive to the house of our departure. It was only when we get there that we find that the half hour we had planned for packing was not needed and thus we could have had an extra half hour of sleep. Of course we were not granted such a luxury. Instead we chose to spend our extra time getting some coffee and food from Tim Hortons in the hopes that we could survive the morning. Of course had we known that we would be waiting, then still waiting and then waiting some more for 2 cups of coffee we probably would have just gone and picked some beans ourselves and made our own cup of joe. Of course in Olean what kind of service can you expect. 25 minutes later we had our coffee and were out on the road.

We then made the 5 hour drive to Harrisburg PA, filled with uneventfulness and half consciousness. Of course when we got there and attempted to get off the bus we realized a minor issue, we had locked ourselves on the bus. That' s right, our door is apparently incapable of being unlocked from the inside. Fortunately we managed to finagle the window open and perform a "reach around" and unlock the door through the window.

We then spent the day meeting the, as of tomorrow, May 18th, Governor of Pennsylvania. We listened to some campaign speeches, handed out some info and got the governor, as well as quite a few others, to sign our bus. Then another 5 hours and Justina and I our now sitting in the apartment enjoying a the night and tomorrow off and then back on the road to DC on Wednesday morning.

It was a slow and calm start and we are both way too tired to write anything more interesting than this so now after 22 straight hours of being on the road we shall call it a day, get some sleep and enjoy a day to collect ourselves before the real insanity to begins.
